My training and experience in counselling and psychotherapy
I worked for many years in health service management before my own experience of therapy sparked a growing interest in the power of the past to affect our present. This led me to train as an integrative psychotherapist and I established my private practice in 2010, becoming accredited by my professional body, the BACP in 2012. Alongside my private practice I have worked for the Priory Group.
It was this latter experience that led to the development of my two main interests in the areas of addiction, and trauma. I undertook further training in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprogramming (EMDR) which is a NICE endorsed trauma therapy.
I recognise the grounding properties of a mindful mindset and have done additional training in this area as well (you can find some videos to encourage a mindful moment here). Until recently I held a part-time teaching post on a Counselling degree course. I am currently completing a Master’s degree in creative writing and am interested in the role of creativity in healing and mental wellbeing. I have also written and contributed to several articles for different organisations which you might find interesting.

My experience is with individual clients and group therapy. I also work as a clinical supervisor to other therapists.
I would love the opportunity to discuss how my approach to therapy could help you.
